Method

Preparation of Cheese Mixture

  1. 1

    Blend the Cheese

In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and Monterey Jack cheese. Mix until smooth and fully blended.

Add-ins

  1. 2

    Incorporate Add-ins

Add crumbled bacon, finely chopped onion, and jalapeno to the cheese mixture. Stir until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Breading the Cheese Shots

  1. 3

    Prepare for Breading

Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with whisked eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.

  2. 4

    Bread the Cheese Mixture

Take a tablespoon of the cheese mixture and shape it into a ball or shot-sized shape. Roll the cheese ball in flour, dip it in the egg, and then coat it with breadcrumbs. Repeat until all cheese mixture is used.

Frying

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Fry the Cheese Shots

Carefully add the breaded cheese shots to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve

Arrange the fried cheese shots on a serving platter and serve with ranch dressing on the side for dipping.
