Cake Base

Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In a separate bowl, beat the unsalted butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

  6. 6

    Bake the Cakes

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. 7

    Cool the Cakes

Remove the cakes from the oven and allow them to cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, transfer the cakes to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting Preparation

  1. 8

    Beat Cream Cheese

In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth and creamy.

  2. 9

    Add Sugar and Vanilla

Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.

  3. 10

    Incorporate Heavy Cream

Slowly pour in the heavy cream while mixing, until the frosting is light and fluffy.

Assembly and Decoration

  1. 11

    Layer the Cakes

Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a generous amount of frosting on top, then place the second layer on top of the frosting.

  2. 12

    Frost the Cake

Use the remaining frosting to cover the top and sides of the cake.

  3. 13

    Decorate the Cake

Garnish the top of the cake with fresh berries, mint leaves, and chocolate shavings as desired.

  4. 14

    Serve

Slice the cake and serve to your guests. Enjoy your feature dessert!
