Method

Preparing the Quesadilla

  1. 1

    Layering the Cheese

Place one flour tortilla on a clean, flat surface. Evenly sprinkle 2/3 cup of Chihuahua cheese over the tortilla, ensuring coverage to the edges.

  2. 2

    Stacking the Tortillas

Place a second tortilla on top of the cheese-covered tortilla. Repeat the process by adding another 2/3 cup of Chihuahua cheese over the second tortilla, then top with the third tortilla.

Cooking the Quesadilla

  1. 3

    Melting the Cheese

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted, carefully place the stacked quesadilla in the skillet.

  2. 4

    Cooking the First Side

Cook the quesadilla for 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom tortilla is golden brown and the cheese begins to melt. Use a spatula to check the bottom.

  3. 5

    Flipping the Quesadilla

Carefully flip the quesadilla over using the spatula. Add the remaining tablespoon of butter to the skillet if necessary. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the second side is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.

Serving the Quesadilla

  1. 6

    Cutting and Plating

Once cooked, remove the quesadilla from the skillet and place it on a cutting board. Allow it to cool for a minute, then cut it into wedges.

  2. 7

    Adding Toppings

Serve the quesadilla warm with optional sour cream, salsa, and sliced jalapeños on the side.
