Beef Steak

Mashed Potatoes

Method

Beef Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the beef steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub both sides of the steak with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Let it marinate while you prepare the potatoes.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet over high heat. Once hot, place the steak in the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip.

  4. 4

    Add Aromatics

After flipping the steak, add garlic cloves and rosemary to the skillet. Cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, basting the steak with the juices.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Mashed Potatoes

  1. 6

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a pot of salted boiling water and cook for about 15-20 minutes or until tender.

  2. 7

    Drain the Potatoes

Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot.

  3. 8

    Mash the Potatoes

Add butter, heavy cream, salt, and black pepper to the drained potatoes. Use a potato masher or fork to mash until smooth and creamy.

  4. 9

    Serve

Serve the mashed potatoes alongside the rested steak for a complete meal.
