Cocktail Base

Method

Prepare Glass

1

If you want a salted or smoked-salt rim, pour the salt onto a small plate. Run a grapefruit wedge or lime around the rim of a rocks glass, then dip the rim lightly into the salt so it catches evenly. Fill the glass with fresh ice and set aside.

Mix Cocktail

2

Shake

Add the tequila, fresh lime juice, fresh grapefruit juice, agave nectar, and orange liqueur to a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice (about 3/4 full). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and slightly frosty.

3

Strain

Double-strain the mixture into the prepared rocks glass over fresh ice (use a fine mesh strainer if you want a very clean pour).

4

Top

Top the cocktail with about 2 ounces of club soda to add light effervescence and bring the drink to a light, refreshing profile consistent with the 'lite' name. Stir gently once with a bar spoon to integrate.

Garnish & Serve

5

Garnish with a grapefruit wheel or a grapefruit twist perched on the rim. Serve immediately.
