Preparation

Cocktail

1. Prepare and combine

Add gin, elderflower liqueur, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, dry vermouth, orange bitters, and egg white (if using) into a cocktail shaker without ice for a dry shake. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds to emulsify the egg white and incorporate air.

2. Shake with ice

Open the shaker and add the ice. Close and shake again vigorously for 12–18 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and well chilled.

3. Strain and serve

Double strain the cocktail through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled coupe or martini glass to remove ice shards and any coagulated egg white. If you prefer a taller drink, serve over fresh ice in a rocks glass.

Garnish

4. Express a lemon twist over the surface of the drink to release oils and either drop it into the glass or rest it on the rim. Alternatively, float an edible flower gently on the foam or surface for a visual 'blossom' effect.
