Brewed Coffee (12 fl oz cup)

Espresso (single shot ~1 fl oz)

Quick Bite - Butter Croissant

Method

Brewed Coffee (12 fl oz cup)

1

Grind and Measure

Measure 0.022 cups (about 12–14 g) of medium-roast whole coffee beans. Grind to a medium coarseness suitable for drip or pour-over.

2

Heat Water

Heat 12 fl oz (about 355 ml) of filtered water to 195–205°F (90–96°C). If you don't have a thermometer, bring to a boil and rest 30 seconds.

3

Brew

If using a drip coffee maker, add the ground coffee to a filter and brew with 12 fl oz water. For pour-over, wet the grounds with a small amount of water, wait 30 seconds for bloom, then slowly pour the remaining water over 2–3 minutes to finish brewing.

4

Serve

Pour the brewed coffee into a warmed 12 fl oz cup. Add sugar, flavored syrup, or cinnamon to taste.

Espresso (single shot ~1 fl oz)

5

Dose and Tamp

Dose 0.06 cups (about 7–9 g) of finely ground espresso into the portafilter basket. Distribute and tamp evenly with about 30 lbs of pressure to create a level puck.

6

Pull the Shot

Lock the portafilter into the espresso machine group head. Start the extraction using about 1 fl oz of water heated to 195–205°F. Aim for a 20–30 second extraction yielding a single, rich espresso shot.

Latte (12 fl oz)

7

Prepare Espresso

Pull a single shot of espresso as described in the Espresso section and place it in a 12 fl oz latte cup.

8

Steam Milk

Pour 10 fl oz cold whole milk into a steaming pitcher (milk should be chilled). Submerge the steam wand tip just under the surface to introduce small microfoam, then lower to heat the milk to 150–155°F (65–68°C). Aim for smooth, velvety microfoam with small bubbles.

9

Combine and Latte Art (optional)

Swirl the milk to integrate foam and liquid. Pour the steamed milk over the espresso, starting high to mix, then lower the pitcher to finish with a smooth crema and optional latte art. Add 1 tbs flavored syrup if desired and stir gently.

Quick Bite - Butter Croissant

10

Warm Croissant

If preferred warm, place the croissant on a baking sheet and heat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5–7 minutes until warmed and lightly crisp. Alternatively, microwave for 12–15 seconds for a softer result.

11

Serve

Serve the warm croissant on a plate alongside the brewed coffee or latte.

Optional Add-ins / Condiments

12

Offer granulated sugar, 1 tsp, or flavored syrup, 1 tbs, to add to brewed coffee or latte. Sprinkle a small pinch (about 1 tsp) of ground cinnamon over foam or brewed coffee as desired.
