Tuna Tartare

Method

Preparation of Tuna Tartare

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna

Using a sharp knife, finely dice the fresh sushi-grade tuna into small cubes. Place the diced tuna in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Avocado

Cut the ripe avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh out with a spoon. Dice the avocado into small cubes and add it to the bowl with the tuna.

  3. 3

    Mix the Ingredients

To the bowl with tuna and avocado, add lime juice, soy sauce, sesame oil, chopped green onion, chopped cilantro, salt, and black pepper. Gently fold the mixture together until well combined, being careful not to mash the avocado.

  4. 4

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the tartare and adjust the seasoning as needed with additional salt, black pepper, or lime juice.

  5. 5

    Serve

Spoon the tuna tartare mixture into serving bowls or plates. If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds on top for garnish. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or cucumber slices.
