Method

Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and vegetable oil until smooth.

  4. 4

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  5. 5

    Pour into Pan

Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan and pour the batter into the pan, spreading it evenly.

  6. 6

    Bake the Base

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  7. 7

    Cool the Base

Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Topping Preparation

  1. 8

    Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture

In a medium mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beating until creamy and well combined.

  2. 9

    Spread the Cream Cheese Mixture

Once the base has cooled completely, spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the top of the cake.

  3. 10

    Add Fresh Berries

Top the cream cheese layer with fresh berries of your choice, distributing them evenly across the top.
