Drink
Prepare glass
Chill a coupe or small wine glass in the freezer for 5 minutes or fill it with ice water to cool while you prepare the cocktail.
Combine base spirits
In a mixing glass or cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice cubes, pour 1 oz Cinzano (rosso or bianco) and 1 oz gin. If you prefer a more bitter aperitivo-style spagliato, substitute the gin with 1 oz Campari or use 0.5 oz gin + 0.5 oz Campari.
Stir briefly
Stir the mixture gently with a bar spoon for about 10–15 seconds to chill and lightly dilute. The goal is a short, brisk chill, not heavy dilution.
Strain and top
Discard ice or water from the chilled serving glass. Strain the mixed spirits into the chilled glass and immediately top with 2 oz (about 60 ml) chilled Prosecco, pouring gently to preserve carbonation.
Garnish and serve
Express the oils of an orange twist over the drink by holding the twist over the glass and gently pinching so oils spray over the surface, then drop the twist into the drink as garnish. Serve immediately.
