Method
Cooking the Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 2 liters of water to a rolling boil.

Add Salt
Once boiling, add 1 tablespoon of salt to the water.

Cook Spaghetti
Add 200 grams of spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes, or until al dente.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside.
Making the Sauce

Heat Oil
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

Sauté Garlic
Add 3 minced garlic cloves to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Add Tomatoes and Spices
Stir in 400 grams of crushed canned tomatoes, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of dried basil, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Mix well.

Simmer Sauce
Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained spaghetti to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly.

Serve
Serve the spaghetti hot, garnished with 50 grams of grated parmesan cheese on top.
