Syrup & Citrus

Method

Syrup & Citrus

1

Juice and mix

In a cocktail shaker or mixing glass, combine fresh lemon juice (3 tbs), fresh lime juice (1 tbs), and simple syrup (1.5 tbs). Stir or shake briefly to combine and chill for 10–15 seconds.

2

Light muddle

Add 2 cucumber slices and 4 mint leaves to the shaker. Gently muddle just enough to release aromatic oils and cucumber flavor — avoid over-muddling the mint to prevent bitterness (about 4–6 gentle presses).

Sparkling & Garnish

3

Strain over ice

Fill a Collins or highball glass with ice (about 1 cup). Fine-strain the shaken citrus-syrup-mint-cucumber mixture into the glass to remove solids. This yields a bright, aromatic base.

4

Top with sparkling

Pour 8 oz chilled sparkling water over the strained base. If you have Saratoga or a premium mineral water, substitute 4 oz of the sparkling with 4 oz Saratoga for a signature finish (total sparkling liquid remains 8–12 oz depending on glass size). Gently stir once with a bar spoon to integrate.

5

Garnish and finish

Thread the remaining cucumber slice onto the rim or float it on top. Smack the remaining 2 mint leaves between your palms to release the aroma and slap them onto the drink or tuck them into the glass. Add a thin lemon wheel on the rim. Serve immediately with a straw.
