Preparation
Rim the glass
Pour the granulated sugar onto a small plate. Run a lime wedge around the rim of a chilled Collins or highball glass, then dip the rim into the sugar to create an even sugared rim. Set the glass aside to dry briefly.
Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add the white rum (2 oz), Tequila Rose (1 oz), strawberry purée (1 oz), cranberry juice (2 oz), fresh lime juice (0.5 oz), and simple syrup (0.5 tbs). Fill the shaker about two-thirds full with ice.
Shake
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker feels very cold and the ingredients are well combined and slightly frothy from the purée and liqueur.
Strain and serve
Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice (if desired). Double-strain the cocktail into the glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove pulp and small ice shards for a smoother texture.
