Cocktail
Build and Shake
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add 2 oz London dry gin, 0.5 oz pear liqueur, 0.5 oz melon liqueur, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until well chilled and slightly frosty on the outside of the shaker.
Strain
Double-strain the shaken mixture into a chilled coupe or martini glass (or a highball on fresh ice if you prefer a longer drink). Use a julep strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove ice shards and any pulp.
Top and Garnish
Gently float about 1 oz dry sparkling water or club soda on top to lift the aromatics and add a light spritz. Garnish with a thin pear slice and a melon ball or small wedge on a cocktail pick. Serve immediately.
Notes
Adjust the pear vs. melon balance by varying the liqueur amounts slightly (for a brighter pear-forward drink, increase pear liqueur to 0.75 oz and reduce melon liqueur to 0.25 oz). If you prefer less sweetness, omit the 0.25 oz simple syrup. Use very fresh lime juice for best clarity of flavor.
