Smoothie Base
Prepare fruit
Rinse the strawberries, remove the green hulls, and halve them. Peel the banana and slice into 1/2-inch pieces so they blend evenly.
Sweeten & Blend
Add the honey or maple syrup and the ice cubes to the blender. Secure the lid.
Blend on high for 30–60 seconds, stopping to scrape down the sides with a spatula if needed, until the mixture is completely smooth and no large fruit pieces remain. If the smoothie is too thick, add up to 1/4 cup more milk and blend again for 10–15 seconds. If too thin, add 2–4 more ice cubes or 1/4 cup more yogurt and pulse to combine.
Finish & Serve
Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity: add another 1/2 tbs honey or a few drops of lemon juice if needed, then blend briefly to incorporate.
Pour the smoothie into a 16-20 oz glass (or two smaller glasses). Sprinkle chia seeds on top if using, and garnish with the sliced strawberry and banana.
Serve immediately with a reusable straw. Store any leftover smoothie in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours, then shake or stir well before drinking (texture will thicken).
