Fit Turkey Wrap

A Zany's spin on a fan favorite. A traditional blend of red wine, citrus juices and fresh fruit with a Zany's twist!

Wash all fruit. Thinly slice the orange, lemon, and lime. Core and cut the apple into 1/2-inch cubes. Hull and halve the strawberries. Cut pineapple into bite-sized pieces if using fresh.

Slice and prep

In a large glass pitcher (at least 2 liters capacity), add the orange slices, lemon slices, lime slices (if using), apple cubes, strawberries and pineapple. Add the cinnamon stick and whole cloves if using. Gently muddle the fruit and spices 6–8 times with a wooden spoon or muddler to release juices and aromatics—do not pulverize.

Lightly muddle

Add simple syrup and citrus juices: Pour the simple syrup, freshly squeezed orange juice, and lemon juice over the muddled fruit. Stir to combine so the fruit begins to macerate in the syrup and citrus for 2–5 minutes.

Add wine and spirits: Pour the red wine into the pitcher, then add the orange liqueur and brandy. Stir thoroughly to incorporate the alcohol with the macerated fruit and juices.

Chill: Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 4 hours and up to 24 hours. The longer it chills, the more the fruit infuses the wine. If using cloves/cinnamon, 4–8 hours is usually sufficient to avoid overpowering spice.

Just before serving, taste and adjust sweetness: If it needs more sweetness, stir in additional simple syrup 1 tablespoon at a time. If you'd like a brighter punch, add an extra tablespoon of lemon or orange juice.

Add carbonation: Right before ladling into glasses, add the chilled club soda (and ginger beer if using to replace part of the club soda). Gently stir once to combine so you keep as much effervescence as possible.

Serve: Fill ice-filled glasses with a generous spoonful of the macerated fruit, pour sangria over the ice, and garnish with a fresh mint sprig. Optionally, rim glasses with sugar for a sweeter presentation.

Storage: Store leftover sangria (without club soda) covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Add fresh club soda or ginger beer just before serving to restore fizz.
