Cocktail
Method
Cocktail
Prepare glass
Fill a highball or Collins glass with ice to chill while you mix the drink.
Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker or mixing glass filled halfway with ice, add 2 oz Malibu rum, 4 oz pineapple juice and 0.5 oz fresh lime juice. Do not add the Blue Curaçao yet.
Shake
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for about 10–12 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and the juices are well mixed and slightly frothy.
Strain and layer
Strain the shaken mixture into the chilled glass filled with fresh ice. Slowly pour 1 oz Blue Curaçao over the back of a spoon held just above the surface of the drink to create a gentle layering effect (the blue will sink slightly and create a mermaid-like gradient).
Garnish and serve
Garnish with a lime wedge and/or a pineapple wedge or maraschino cherry on the rim. Serve with a straw and enjoy immediately.
