Method

Prep

1

Chill glass

Place a coupe or rocks glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill while you prepare the cocktail.

2

Juice citrus

If not already measured, freshly squeeze the lime and grapefruit to yield the required juice amounts (approximately half a lime for 0.75 oz; a small grapefruit segment for 1 oz).

Build & Shake

3

Add 2 oz Grey Goose vodka, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 1 oz fresh grapefruit juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup, and 0.25 oz orange liqueur into a cocktail shaker.

4

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) until it is roughly 3/4 full. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and well-chilled.

Strain & Serve

5

Remove the chilled glass from the freezer or discard the ice water. Fine-strain the shaken cocktail into the chilled coupe or over fresh ice in a rocks glass, depending on preference.

6

Express the oils of a grapefruit twist over the drink by holding the twist skin-side down over the glass and giving it a firm snap, then drop the twist into the drink (or garnish with a wedge and optional lime wheel).

7

Serve immediately.
