Cocktail

1

Chill glass

Place a rocks glass or coupe in the freezer for a few minutes or fill it with ice water to chill while preparing the cocktail.

2

Measure and combine

Add 2 oz Don Julio 1942, 0.5 oz orange liqueur, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice and 0.25 tsp simple syrup (omit if you prefer drier) into a mixing glass or shaker.

3

Add bitters (optional)

If using, add 1 dash Angostura bitters to the mixing glass to add aromatic depth.

4

Add ice and mix

Fill the mixing glass with large ice cubes (about 3). Stir gently for 20–30 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted. If you prefer a shaken style, add ice and shake briefly for 8–10 seconds, then strain.

5

Prepare glass and garnish

Discard ice water from the chilled glass. If using an orange peel garnish, express the oils over the glass by holding the peel skin-side down and giving it a firm twist above the glass, then rub the rim with the peel.

6

Strain and serve

Strain the cocktail into the chilled rocks glass over one large ice cube or into the chilled coupe without ice, depending on preference. Drop in the lime wheel or rest the expressed orange peel on the rim as garnish.

7

Enjoy

Serve immediately and sip slowly to appreciate the tequila's aroma and flavor.
