Cocktail

Method

Prepare glass (optional)

1

Salt rim (optional)

If you prefer a lightly salted rim, rub the outer edge of a rocks glass with a lime wedge, then dip the rim into a shallow plate with coarse or smoked sea salt. Set the glass aside.

Build & shake

2

Add 2 oz Clase Azul Reposado, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz agave nectar and 0.5 oz orange liqueur into a cocktail shaker filled with fresh ice.

3

Add 1 dash Angostura bitters to the shaker. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well-chilled and slightly diluted.

Strain & finish

4

Place a large ice cube in the prepared rocks glass. Double-strain the shaken cocktail into the glass to remove small ice shards and citrus pulp.

5

Express orange oil

Hold a piece of orange peel over the cocktail, skin side down, and give it a sharp twist to express the citrus oils across the surface. Run the peel around the rim and then drop it into the drink as a garnish.

6

Garnish with a lime wheel on the rim or floated atop the ice. Serve immediately.
