Ingredients for Nepali Sekuwa Kebabs

Method

Directions for Preparing Nepali Sekuwa Kebabs

1

Marinate the Meat

In a large bowl, combine the yogurt, minced garlic, grated ginger, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, lemon juice, and vegetable oil. Mix well to form a marinade.

2

Add the Meat

Add the chicken or pork cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

3

Prepare the Skewers

If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 30 minutes to prevent burning. Preheat your grill or barbecue.

4

Skewering the Meat

Thread the marinated meat onto the skewers, leaving some space between each piece for even cooking.

5

Grilling the Kebabs

Place the skewers on the preheated grill and cook for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally until the meat is cooked through and has a nice char.

6

Serve

Remove the kebabs from the grill, let them rest for a few minutes, then serve hot with chutney or flatbreads.
