Sandwich Components

Method

Cuban Mayo Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and lime juice. Stir well until all ingredients are thoroughly blended.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 2

    Prepare the Bread

Take two slices of Cuban bread and spread the prepared Cuban mayo generously on one side of each slice.

  2. 3

    Layer the Fillings

On the mayo side of one slice, layer the sliced ham, followed by the Swiss cheese, and then the pickle slices. Top with the second slice of bread, mayo side down.

Grilling

  1. 4

    Heat the Grill

Preheat a grill or panini press over medium heat. If using a skillet, lightly grease it with butter or oil.

  2. 5

    Grill the Sandwich

Place the assembled sandwich on the grill or skillet. Grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted. If using a panini press, close the lid and grill according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Serving

  1. 6

    Slice and Serve

Once grilled, remove the sandwich from the heat. Let it cool for a minute, then slice in half diagonally and serve warm.
