Method
Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This allows the cookies to bake evenly.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Set aside.
Mixing
- 3
Cream Butter and Sugars
In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- 4
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- 5
Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
Final Touch
- 6
Fold in Chocolate Chips
Using a spatula, gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- 7
Scoop Cookies
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
Baking
- 8
Bake the Cookies
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly underbaked.
- 9
Cool the Cookies
Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
