Place the glass in the refrigerator or freezer for 10–20 minutes beforehand, or fill with ice and cold water to chill while you prepare the beer. Empty the ice water just before pouring.

Chill glass

If using a lemon twist or orange peel, cut a thin strip of peel and set aside. If using mint, gently slap the sprig between your palms to release the aroma and set aside.

Prepare garnish (optional)

If you prefer a slightly colder, more sessionable beer, add 3–4 ice cubes to the chilled glass. Note: Adding ice will dilute the beer as it melts; skip ice if you want the beer undiluted.

If the beer feels too heavy or strongly flavored, add up to 30 ml cold water to the glass and gently stir once with the bar spoon to integrate. Taste and add no more than needed—this is to soften flavor without losing character.

Adjust dilution (optional)

Express the citrus peel over the glass (if using) to release oils, then drop it in or hang it on the rim. Alternatively, lay the mint sprig on top for aroma. Serve immediately while cold.
