Method
Salad Preparation
Prepare the Romaine Lettuce
Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Remove any damaged leaves and chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Pat dry with a paper towel or use a salad spinner to remove excess water.
Grate the Parmesan Cheese
Using a box grater or a food processor, grate the Parmesan cheese until you have about 0.5 cups. Set aside for garnishing the salad.
Prepare the Croutons
If using store-bought croutons, measure out 1 cup. If making homemade croutons, cut bread into cubes, toss with olive oil, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Dressing Preparation
Make the Caesar Dressing
In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until smooth and well blended. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
Assembly
Combine Ingredients
In a large salad bowl, add the chopped romaine lettuce. Drizzle the Caesar dressing over the lettuce and toss gently to coat all the leaves evenly.
Add Toppings
Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and croutons over the top of the salad. Toss gently again to mix in the toppings.
Serve
Serve the Caesar salad immediately as a side dish or a main meal. Enjoy!
