Method

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. 3

Mix in the vanilla extract and the egg until well combined.

  4. 4

In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

  5. 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

  6. 6

Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Baking

  1. 7

    Prepare Skillet

Grease a 10-inch cast iron skillet or an oven-safe skillet with butter or cooking spray.

  2. 8

Evenly spread the cookie dough in the prepared skillet.

  3. 9

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set but still soft.

  4. 10

    Cool Slightly

Allow the skillet cookie to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Serving

  1. 11

    Top with Ice Cream

Serve warm by topping with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream on each slice.
