Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Clean the Octopus

Rinse the fresh octopus under cold running water to remove any dirt or sand. Ensure to remove the beak and any innards.

  2. 2

    Boil the Octopus

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the octopus and let it simmer for about 45 minutes until tender. You may need to adjust the time depending on the size of the octopus.

  3. 3

    Cool and Cut

Once cooked, remove the octopus from the pot and allow it to cool. Once cool, cut it into bite-sized pieces.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, chopped parsley, sea salt, black pepper, and chili flakes. Mix well to create a marinade.

  5. 5

    Marinate the Octopus

Add the cut octopus to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Allow it to marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Skewers

Once marinated, take the cocktail skewers and thread pieces of octopus onto each skewer. You can alternate with additional herbs or slices of lemon for garnish.

  7. 7

    Serve

Arrange the skewers on a serving plate and drizzle with any remaining marinade. Serve immediately as a refreshing cocktail appetizer.
