Fried Humboldt Squid Ingredients
Method
Fried Humboldt Squid Directions
Prepare the Squid
In a large bowl, combine the cleaned squid rings with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well and let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
Make the Batter
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. In a separate bowl, mix the beaten eggs and milk. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed; do not overmix.
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Squid
Dip each squid ring into the batter, allowing the excess to drip off, then carefully place it into the hot oil. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding, cooking for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
Drain and Serve
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried squid and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with lemon wedges and garnish with fresh parsley.
