Stand the bottle upright for at least 30 minutes before opening if it has been recently transported, to let any settled sediment settle to the bottom.

If the wine is an older vintage or you prefer a brighter aroma and softer tannins, decant for 30–60 minutes. For younger vintages, decanting for 15–30 minutes can open up the fruit and integrate oak.

Place the bottle on a stable surface. Use a corkscrew to open the bottle cleanly. Wipe the bottle neck with a clean cloth after removing the cork.

Select a large Bordeaux-style glass to concentrate aromas and allow the wine to breathe. Ensure the glass is clean and at room temperature.

Pour a small taste (≈30–50 ml) for evaluation first, then fill to about one-third of the glass (≈150 ml) so there is room to swirl.

Serve at 16–18°C (61–64°F). If the wine is slightly warm, chill in an ice bucket for 5–10 minutes; if too cold, let it sit in the glass for a few minutes to reach proper temperature. Use a thermometer if desired.

Swirl gently to release aromas, then sniff and taste. Note the Tempranillo fruit (cherry, plum) balanced with elegant oak spice and smooth tannins.

Arrange accompaniments on a serving board: place sliced Manchego, folded ham, bowl of olives, and Marcona almonds. Slice the bread and place it alongside.

Taste combinations: pair the wine with Manchego to highlight savory and nutty flavors; try a bite of jamón to bring out the wine's fruit and soft tannins. Olives and almonds will accentuate the wine's savory and toasted oak notes.

Replenish accompaniments as needed. Remove any strong-flavored items (e.g., heavily garlicked olives) if they overpower the wine's delicate oak and fruit balance.

If serving in a warm environment, prepare an ice bucket with one part water to one part ice and rest the bottle for 5–10 minutes to bring it into the target range (16–18°C). Avoid over-chilling which mutes aromas.

Use a wine thermometer to confirm serving temperature, inserting it into the wine briefly or using an external sleeve thermometer.
