Main Ingredients

Caramelized Onions

Method

Caramelizing the Onions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Onions

Slice the medium onion into thin rings.

  2. 2

    Cook the Onions

In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Stir occasionally and cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown and caramelized. Set aside.

Assembling the Turkey Melt

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In the same skillet, cook 4 strips of bacon until crispy. Remove and set on paper towels to drain the excess fat.

  2. 4

    Build the Sandwich

On the bottom half of each brioche bun, layer the sliced turkey breast, 1 slice of Swiss cheese, caramelized onions, 1 leaf of romaine lettuce, and slices of tomato.

  3. 5

    Add Bacon and Aioli

Crumble the crispy bacon over the tomatoes and spread 1 tablespoon of aioli on the top half of each bun.

  4. 6

    Toast the Sandwich

Close the sandwich and place it back in the skillet. Toast each side on low heat until the bun is golden brown and the cheese is melted, approximately 3-5 minutes per side.
