Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Slice Vegetables

Thinly slice the bell pepper and onion. Set aside.

Cooking Steak

  1. 2

    Cook the Steak

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shaved rib eye steak, season with salt and black pepper, and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.

Sautéing Vegetables

  1. 3

    Sauté Peppers and Onions

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced bell pepper and onion, sautéing until they are soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.

Combining Ingredients

  1. 4

    Combine Steak and Vegetables

Return the cooked steak to the skillet with the sautéed peppers and onions. Stir well to combine and heat through for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Assembling Sandwiches

  1. 5

    Assemble Philly Cheese Steaks

Cut the baguette pieces in half lengthwise. Fill each baguette with the steak and vegetable mixture, then top with a slice of American cheese and a slice of provolone cheese. If desired, broil for 1-2 minutes to melt the cheese.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve

Serve the Philly cheese steaks warm, with additional condiments or sides as desired.
