Method

Prepare Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, roughly ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.

Cook Burgers

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the burgers reach your desired doneness.

Assemble Burgers

  1. 5

    Prepare Buns

Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

  2. 6

    Layer Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce, the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.

  1. 7

    Cook Fries

Follow the instructions on the frozen fries package for cooking. Usually, they can be baked in the oven at 425°F (220°C) for about 20-25 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
