Burger Patty
Toppings
Method
Prepare the Burger Patty
- 1
Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Use your hands to mix gently until just combined. Do not overwork the meat to keep the patties tender.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions. Form each portion into a round patty that is about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb. This helps the burger cook evenly and prevents it from puffing up.

Slice the Vegetables
While the patties are cooking, wash and slice the tomato into thick slices. Peel and slice the red onion into thin rings. Rinse the lettuce leaves and pat dry.

Build Your Burger
Once the patties are cooked to your liking, remove them from the heat. Toast the burger buns if desired. On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a cooked patty, a slice of tomato, and a few rings of red onion. Top with the other half of the bun.

Serve
Serve the burgers immediately while hot, with your favorite sides such as fries or a salad.
