Method

Chocolate Sack Preparation

  1. 1

    Melt the Chocolate

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and heavy cream. Melt over a double boiler or in the microwave in 30-second intervals until smooth and fully combined.

  2. 2

    Create the Chocolate Shell

Using a balloon or a silicone mold, coat the inside with the melted chocolate mixture. Ensure an even layer and let it harden in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Cake Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Cake

Preheat the oven according to the instructions on the cake mix box. In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth.

  2. 4

    Bake the Cake

Pour the cake batter into a greased cake pan and bake according to package instructions. Let it cool completely before crumbling into small pieces.

Ice Cream Preparation

  1. 5

    Scoop the Ice Cream

Allow the vanilla ice cream to sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes to soften. Scoop out enough to fill the chocolate sack.

Graham Cracker Crumbs Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Crumbs

Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Crush the graham crackers into fine crumbs and mix with the melted butter until fully combined.

Strawberry Compote Preparation

  1. 7

    Make the Compote

In a small saucepan, combine fresh strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until the strawberries break down and the mixture thickens, about 10 minutes. Let cool.

Toasted Almonds Preparation

  1. 8

    Toast the Almonds

In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the sliced almonds until golden brown and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes. Stir frequently to prevent burning.

Assembly and Serving

  1. 9

    Assemble the Dessert

Once the chocolate shell has set, fill it with crumbled cake, followed by a scoop of vanilla ice cream, graham cracker crumbs, and strawberry compote. Top with toasted almonds.

  2. 10

    Add Toppings

Finish the dessert with a generous dollop of whipped cream, a drizzle of chocolate sauce, and a drizzle of caramel sauce.

  3. 11

    Serve

Serve immediately and enjoy this decadent Chocolate Sack!
