Fries

Method

Prepare Fries

  1. 1

    Bake the Fries

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the frozen French fries evenly on a baking sheet. Drizzle with vegetable oil and sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Toss to coat the fries evenly.

  2. 2

    Cook the Fries

Bake the fries in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy, turning them halfway through the cooking time for even crispiness.

Prepare Steak Topping

  1. 3

    Cook the Steak

While the fries are baking, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the ribeye steak with salt and black pepper. Add the steak to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare or until desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add sliced onions and mushrooms. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until the onions are translucent and mushrooms are browned. Remove from heat.

  3. 5

    Slice the Steak

After resting, slice the steak thinly against the grain.

Assemble

  1. 6

    Top the Fries

Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and layer the sliced steak over the fries. Add the sautéed onions and mushrooms on top.

  2. 7

    Melt the Cheese

Sprinkle the shredded white American cheese over the steak and vegetable mixture. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
