Preparation
- 1
- 2
Prepare the Beef
Thinly slice the American Wagyu beef against the grain to ensure tenderness.
Cooking
- 3
Sauté the Vegetables
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add the mushrooms and peppers, and sauté for an additional 5-7 minutes until softened.
- 4
Cook the Beef
Push the sautéed vegetables to one side of the skillet. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the sliced Wagyu beef to the empty side. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the beef is browned, stirring occasionally.
- 5
Combine Ingredients
Mix the sautéed vegetables with the beef in the skillet until evenly combined and heated through.
- 6
Melt the Cheese
Lay the slices of white American cheese over the beef and vegetable mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it sit for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese melts.
Assembly
- 7
Prepare the Hoagie Rolls
While the cheese is melting, slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
- 8
Fill the Rolls
Once the cheese has melted, use a spatula to scoop the beef and cheese mixture into the prepared hoagie rolls.
- 9
Serve
Serve the cheesesteaks hot with your choice of sides.
