Cocktail

Method

Prep

1

Optional salted rim

If you want a salted rim, rub a lime wedge around the glass lip and dip just the outer half into the flaked sea salt. Set glass aside to dry briefly.

2

Prepare cucumber juice

Peel or leave skin on (for extra color) and roughly chop 1 medium cucumber. Place cucumber in a blender and blitz until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a measuring cup, pressing solids to extract juice. Measure 1.5 oz cucumber juice and discard solids. Alternatively, use a small juicer to yield the same amount.

Mixing

3

Muddle

In a cocktail shaker, place 2 thin cucumber slices and the agave syrup. Gently muddle just to bruise the cucumber and release aromatics (about 4–6 presses).

4

Combine and shake

Add the fresh lime juice, non‑alcoholic blanco tequila alternative (2 oz), the prepared cucumber juice (1.5 oz) and fill the shaker with ice (about 4–5 large cubes or 1 cup). Shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and slightly frosted.

5

Double strain

Double‑strain the mixture into the prepared glass (over fresh ice) using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to catch cucumber pulp and solids.

6

Top with soda

Slowly top the cocktail with 2 oz club soda to add brightness and lift. Give the drink one gentle stir (1–2 turns) to marry the soda without flattening the fizz.

Finish & Serve

7

Garnish the drink with the reserved cucumber slice threaded on the rim and a lime wheel. Serve immediately with a short stirring straw.
