Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Pears

Peel and slice the pears in half. Remove the core and set aside.

2

Heat the Butter

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until bubbly.

3

Cook the Pears

Add the pear halves to the skillet, cut side down. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until lightly browned.

4

Add Flavorings

Flip the pears over and add the ginger molasses, dark rum, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Stir gently to coat the pears.

5

Flame the Rum

Carefully ignite the rum with a long lighter or match to flambé the pears. Allow the flames to subside, then reduce heat to low.

6

Simmer

Cover the skillet and let the pears simmer in the sauce for an additional 5-10 minutes, until tender.

7

Serve

Serve the pears warm, drizzled with the sauce, and sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.
