Method

Preparing the Burger Patties

1

Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bourbon, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

2

Form Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick.

Cooking the Burger Patties

3

Preheat Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

4

Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties.

5

Add Cheese

After flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burger is cooked to your desired doneness.

Preparing the Toppings

6

Cook Bacon

In a separate skillet, cook the bacon slices over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

7

Prep Vegetables

Slice the tomato and red onion. Wash and dry the lettuce leaves.

Assembling the Burger

8

Toast Buns (optional)

If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

9

Build the Burger

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf, followed by a burger patty with melted cheese, bacon, tomato slices, and red onion. Add ketchup and mustard to taste. Top with the other half of the bun.
