Fried Brussels Sprouts with Pickled Red Onion and Radish
Method
Instructions
Prepare the Brussels Sprouts
Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half. Rinse under cold water and set aside.
Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in water until the batter is smooth and has a pancake-like consistency.
Heat the Oil
In a deep pan or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Brussels Sprouts
Dip the Brussels sprouts in the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Carefully drop them into the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes.
Drain and Season
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried Brussels sprouts and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. While still hot, drizzle with pop glaze and toss to coat.
Prepare the Radishes
Thinly slice the radishes and set aside for garnish.
Serve
Plate the fried Brussels sprouts topped with pickled red onion, sliced radishes, and chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately.
