French Toast

Method

French Toast

1

Prepare the Batter

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.

2

Dip the Bread

Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side.

3

Cook the French Toast

Place the soaked bread in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Repeat with remaining bread slices, adding more butter to the skillet as needed.

4

Dust with Powdered Sugar

Once cooked, transfer the French toast to a plate and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Glaze

5

Prepare the Glaze

In a small saucepan, combine the maple syrup, butter, and vanilla extract. Heat over medium-low, stirring until the butter is melted and the mixture is well combined.

Hash Browns

6

Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and grate the potatoes. Rinse them under cold water to remove excess starch, then dry them thoroughly using a kitchen towel.

7

Sauté the Onion

In a large skillet, add the vegetable oil and heat over medium-high heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

8

Cook the Hash Browns

Add the grated potatoes to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Press them down with a spatula and cook for about 5-7 minutes until crispy and golden brown, then flip and cook the other side for an additional 5-7 minutes.

9

Serve

Remove from skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot alongside the French toast.
