1

Prepare glass

Choose a tall Collins or highball glass (12–16 oz capacity). Fill the glass about two-thirds full with cubed ice (approximately 1 cup).

2

Add tequila and juice

Pour 2 oz blanco tequila over the ice, then add 4 oz freshly squeezed orange juice. Stir gently once or twice with a bar spoon to combine tequila and orange juice uniformly.

3

Create sunrise effect

Slowly pour 0.5 oz grenadine down the inside back of the glass or over the handle of a bar spoon so it sinks to the bottom and creates a layered 'sunrise' gradient. Do not stir after adding grenadine so the gradient remains visible.

4

Garnish and serve

Garnish the drink with an orange wheel on the rim and a maraschino cherry on a pick. Serve with a straw (optional) and present without stirring so the visual sunrise effect stays intact.
