Coke (Classic Served Over Ice)

Variations / For a glass bottle or can

Method

Coke (Classic Served Over Ice)

1

Prepare glass

Select a highball or other tall glass. Rinse briefly with cold water if desired to chill the glass.

2

Add ice

Fill the glass with ice cubes to about 3/4 full (roughly 1 cup). Use fresh, clean ice to avoid dilution from partially melted cubes.

3

Pour Coke

Open a chilled 12 fl oz can or pour from a chilled bottle. Tilt the glass at a 45° angle and slowly pour Coca‑Cola down the side to preserve carbonation and reduce foaming, filling the glass and leaving a small head (about 1/2 inch).

4

Garnish (optional)

If using, run a lime or lemon wedge around the rim and drop it into the drink or serve on the side. This adds a bright citrus note.

5

Serve

Serve immediately with a straw if desired. Replace ice as it melts to maintain chill.

Variations / For a bottle or can

6

If serving from a 330 ml bottle or can, chill thoroughly in refrigerator (2–4°C) before serving. Open and pour gently into a glass over ice, or serve directly from the bottle/can with a straw. Optionally garnish with a citrus wedge.
