Shrimp Preparation

1

Prepare the Shrimp

In a bowl, mix the honey, olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the shrimp and toss to coat. Let it marinate for 15-20 minutes.

2

Cook the Shrimp

Choose your cooking method: blackened, broiled, or crispy. For blackened, heat a skillet over high heat and cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until charred. For broiled, preheat the broiler and cook for 5-7 minutes until opaque. For crispy, dredge in chopped pecans and fry in oil until golden brown.

Hushpuppy Preparation

3

Make the Hushpuppy Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, mix the beaten egg, milk, and chopped green onions. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.

4

Fry the Hushpuppies

Heat oil in a deep fryer or pot to 350°F (175°C). Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
