Baked Potato Ingredients

Method

Baked Potato Directions

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

2

Prepare the Potatoes

Wash the russet potatoes thoroughly under running water. Pat them dry with a paper towel.

3

Season the Potatoes

Pierce each potato several times with a fork. Rub the potatoes with olive oil, then sprinkle them with salt and pepper.

4

Bake the Potatoes

Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet. Bake for about 45-60 minutes, or until the skins are crispy and a fork can easily pierce the flesh.

5

Finish and Serve

Remove the potatoes from the oven. Cut a slit in the top of each potato and gently squeeze the ends to open them up. Add butter, sour cream, chives, and shredded cheese as desired. Serve hot.
