Method
Prepare Glass
- 1
Rim the glass
Run a lime wedge around the rim of a chilled rocks or coupe glass, then dip the rim into a small plate with coarse sea salt to lightly coat. Set the glass aside.
Mix Cocktail
- 2
Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz reposado tequila, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz fresh grapefruit juice, 0.5 oz cranberry (or pomegranate) liqueur or cordial, 0.25 oz agave syrup, and 2 dashes orange bitters.
- 3
Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup), cap it, and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is very cold to the touch and the liquid is well chilled and slightly diluted.
- 4
Double strain
Place a fine mesh strainer over the prepared glass (or use the shaker’s strainer and a second strainer). Strain the cocktail into the rimmed chilled glass to remove ice shards and any pulp.
Finish & Serve
- 5
Garnish with a lime wheel perched on the rim or a grapefruit twist expressed over the drink. Serve immediately.
