Toppings (optional)
Method
Smoothie Base
- 1
Prepare frozen açaí
If using a frozen açaí packet, run under warm water for 5–10 seconds and break it into chunks so it blends evenly.
- 2
- 3
Secure the lid and blend on high for 30–60 seconds, stopping to scrape down the sides once if needed, until the mixture is smooth and thick. If the blender struggles, pulse and then increase speed.
Boosters & Texture
- 4
Add chia seeds, ground flaxseed, and protein powder (if using) to the blender and blend for an additional 5–10 seconds to incorporate. These add fiber, omega-3s, and protein.
- 5
If the smoothie is too thin, add ice cubes and blend 10–20 seconds more to thicken. If it's too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons (15–30 ml) more almond milk and blend briefly until you reach the desired consistency.
Serve & Top
- 6
Pour the smoothie into a tall glass or bowl. The texture should be spoonable if thick, or drinkable like a regular smoothie if slightly thinned.
- 7
Top with granola, fresh banana slices, coconut flakes, and fresh berries as desired.
- 8
Serve immediately. Stir briefly before drinking if toppings have settled.
