Mixing the Broadway Girl
Fill the chilled glass with large ice cubes or crushed ice about three-quarters full.
Pour 2 oz Bulleit Bourbon into a shaker or mixing glass. Add 0.75 oz fresh lime juice and, if you prefer a touch more sweetness, 0.25 oz simple syrup.
Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters to the shaker (this adds depth and a subtle spice that complements the ginger beer).
Give the mixture a quick, gentle stir or cork-shake (no need for a full hard shake since the ginger beer is carbonated). If using a shaker, just 6–8 seconds to combine and chill.
Strain the bourbon-lime-bitters mix into the prepared glass over the ice.
Top with approximately 4 oz chilled ginger beer, pouring gently to preserve carbonation. Stir once briefly with a bar spoon to integrate.
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim and a piece of candied ginger or a thin fresh ginger slice skewered on a pick.
Serve immediately with a straw or sip directly. Encourage guests to squeeze the lime wedge into the drink for extra brightness if desired.
