Method

Cocktail

1

Build & stir

Place a mixing glass or chilled rocks glass on the bar. Add 2 oz Bulleit Bourbon, 0.25 oz simple syrup, and 3 dashes of Angostura bitters into the mixing glass. Add enough ice to fill the mixing glass. Stir gently for about 20–30 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted (a proper dilution is about 15–25% depending on ice).

2

Combine with root beer

Strain the stirred bourbon mixture into a rocks glass over a large ice cube. Top with 2 oz WSB root beer (or chosen root beer). Give one gentle stir (about 3–4 revolutions) to integrate the soda without losing effervescence.

Garnish & Finish

3

Express orange oil & garnish

Take one piece of orange peel. Hold it over the glass, skin side down, and give it a firm squeeze to express the citrus oils across the surface of the drink. Rub the peel around the rim if desired, then drop the peel into the glass as a garnish.

4

Add cherry

Place one maraschino (or Luxardo/Amarena) cherry on top or skewer it and rest it on the rim. Serve immediately.
