Red Bull (single can)
Method
Single can preparation
Combine base
Start with 250 ml of cold carbonated water in a sanitized mixing vessel. If replicating exactly, chill water to 4–8°C for best flavor and retention of carbonation.
Dissolve sugars and acids
Dissolve 11 g sucrose and 11 g glucose into about 50 ml of warm (not hot) water to help them dissolve, then cool this syrup and add to the carbonated water gently to preserve fizz. Add 0.6 g citric acid and stir gently until dissolved.
Add active ingredients
Measure and add 1000 mg taurine, 80 mg caffeine, 600 mg glucuronolactone, and 50 mg inositol to the mixture. These are typically water-soluble powders — dissolve first into a small volume (10–20 ml) of water before adding to preserve even distribution.
Add vitamins and additives
Add vitamins and additives: 8 mg niacin, 2 mg pantothenic acid, 2 mg vitamin B6, 2 µg vitamin B12, and 10 mg sodium benzoate. Stir until fully dissolved.
Flavor and color
Add approximately 1 tsp of natural and artificial flavor blend appropriate to the variant (original: citrus-berry blend; blue: berry-forward; yellow: tropical/citrus). Add 0.2 g of food-grade coloring as needed to match the variant shade. Mix gently.
Carbonation and finishing
If carbonation was lost during mixing, gently carbonate to reach approximately 2.5–3.5 volumes CO2 at serving temperature. Chill to 4–8°C, transfer to a sanitized can or bottle, and seal. Serve chilled.
